Sponsor change in your community.

Volunteering is fun, big time.

Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most enjoyable things you’ll ever do. Not to mention, one of the most fulfilling. You have the opportunity to help shape a child’s future for the better by empowering them to achieve. And the best part is, it’s actually a lot of fun. You and your Little can share the kinds of activities you already like to do.

Play sports together. Go on a hike. Read books. Eat a pizza with extra anchovies. Or just give some advice and inspiration. Whatever it is you enjoy, odds are you’ll enjoy them even more with your Little—and you’ll be making a life-changing impact.

Volunteering just a few hours a month with a child can start something amazing. So why not apply to be a Big today. There are kids out there ready to get started. Are you?

Thank you for your interest in being a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Virginia Peninsula. Big Brothers Big Sisters provides one-to-one mentoring to children which reside on the Peninsula, from Williamsburg to Hampton. You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer with the community based program and you must reside within our current service area to be eligible for enrollment.

We have tried over the course of a year and we have been unsuccessful with sustaining matches with Bigs from the Southside; we recognize that the tunnel has been a barrier during the pilot project, therefore we will be examining a different approach because we do not want to adversely impact our children. Effective Monday, April 21, 2014 volunteers and families living outside of our service area, Williamsburg to Hampton, are not eligible to be matched at this time.

Please feel free to contact the following for volunteer opportunities in your local area that may be of interest:
